About Bernard

Hello. I’m a 51 year old graphic artist, that’s happily married to the same woman for more than thirty one years now and have been drawing with a pencil since I was eight years of age. Inspired by such great artists as: John Bucema, Stan Lynde, Paul Garbutt and the late Dave "Big" Deal ( whom I had recently had the pleasure of getting to know as a friend ) there was never anything else I wanted to do more.

Of course it didn’t look that way when I finished high school but after a brief stint as a welder I manged to get into the sign business which was nothing like drawing, but it at least allowed for some creative expression.

After that and along the way, you name it and I’ve probably had a little experience in just about every kind of graphic art related project there is. From business cards to billboards. And now, after over 30 years of professional artwork, I just want to return to the thing I love to do most…DRAWING!

So, I created this blog to express just some of my artistic skills and to have a place where online visitors, my friends, colleagues and family can come by and say hello, carry on a little ( in print ) and just stay in touch. And, if I pickup some freelance pencil sketches or finished art ideas to do for anyone needing my skill and experience, that will be fine too.
