Now that another thanksgiving (my favorite) holiday has come and gone (sob) we will all be turning towards Christmas and all that goes with that Holiday Season and it’s traditions. I’m not going to try and list what it does or doesn’t mean to me here but whenever and wherever Christmas is celebrated, shopping is surely on the list of traditions for most of us. And, it is with that thought that I wanted to share and awesome little shopping experience you just gotta be sure and try this Christmas Season… |
…It’s called "The Painted Cupboard". A quaint & cozy little hand-crafted, sign/gift/candle & furniture shop located, "just around the corner" in the heart of Oakland, Maryland. It’s open year round so Peggy and I try and stop there when we decide to go a lttle beyond Deep Creek and into this little village to window shop.
Besides the Painted Cupboard there is a host of other "Unique" stores and shops, all with their own lure of treasures and finds that you will get to experience up close and in person. And that alone is worth the trip as you just can’t get the same shopping enjoyment from the malls or online.
We love it because no matter what time of the year it is you can go there and window shop the "Old Fashioned" way…outside and from a "sidewalk".
But, of them all "The Painted Cupboard is my favorite because of the artistic brand and personal touch each display of items offer. You will "feel" the love and caring any number of the artisans, crafters and owner has set out for you to find.
So, if you enjoy plenty of personality and want to purchase something with a little Hand-Crafted edge to it, stop in and see Sabrina in the Painted Cupboard at 215 Alder Street in Oakland, MD or cal her: 301-533-0097
Tell her "Bernard & Peggy" sent you and you just might get to pay "Full Price" on anything in the store!
