Let’s Go Pitt!

Almost everyone I know enjoys the total media explosion that is "March Madness" and I’m no different.

Most of us fill out our brackets and with an expert eye decide which underdogs we will root for if our favorite team is not in the tourney, or get’s knocked out early.

This time around…

…my favorite home town team is not only in the tourney, but one of the teams picked to win it! I’ve been trying to stay calm and realize how hard it is for them to go all the way. And, I usually get no help from them since they seem bent on "winning ugly" all the time.

But an even bigger thrill to have not only had a chance at designing a logo but having had mine chosen and approved by the man himself. Bill Mazeroski.

Around this time last year I was asked by MY company (day job) to take a crack at the proposed final Four Logo for 2009 in the City of Detroit.

Now, the request came with no promises and…

…they also asked that I stay somewhere near the leading graphic that was, at that time, already under strong consideration by the Final Four committee. Not the best way to get a designer excited but I agreed to the confined perimeters…
